Earlier in the summer, Steve Egbury, who is highly experienced in Operations, Finance and Project Management, was appointed to this new role.
Steve currently works at Dearne Valleys partner, Yates Jetting, as their Operations Manager, and brings with him a deep understanding of facilities management, health & safety compliance, risk assessment and site safety coordination. He is highly skilled in bringing teams together to ensure smooth project delivery, maintaining high professional standards and building strong, lasting relationships.
Outside of work, Steve is an avid sports fan having played rugby for Danum Phoenix at both Colts and Senior levels. He has over 25 years of experience playing American Football for Doncaster Wildcats, Doncaster Mustangs and even represented Great Britain at Junior level. He then transitioned to a coaching role in American Football where he helped to mentor and develop talented players, while instilling a winning team culture.
He is also a strong supporter of good causes, the local community and has extensive experience in fundraising. Over recent years Steve has taken part in Charity Boxing Matches, completed the Tough Mudder Challenge and the Doncaster 10k all to raise money for a number of charities.
In his newly created role at Dearne Valley, Steve will be responsible for developing and implementing the operational strategy of the club to ensure the smooth running of all activities. He will oversee the clubs facility and infrastructure in partnership with the Dearne Valley Bulldogs, and help to build a solid operational structure within the club.
Dearne Valley Chairman, Ant Hamilton, commented on the appointment “We are delighted to have Steve join the clubs governance structures. He has a proven record of success in his professional life and we are sure that will transfer in to his role at the club.”
Steve Egbury said about his appointment “I have been a fan of what the club is trying to achieve and the way it is going about its business. Dearne Valley is building something special, there is a real buzz around the place, and I wanted to be part of it. I believe in giving back to the community and this is a great opportunity for me to do that.”
